A Plastic Diamond-encrusted Vuvuzela that Costs 14,000 Pounds

It's reported that a Russian has bought a plastic vuvuzela to give to a football-crazy South African business partner in time for the World Cup final. The vuvuzela costs 17,000 (£14,000) , and was encrusted with precious stones, including a large single diamond.

An Austrian jeweller, called Klemens Pointner, sold the vuvuzela to the Russian. Klemens Pointner said: "I met the businessmen at a trade fair in Moscow. He asked me about the possibility of modifying one of the vuvuzelas for a football mad business contact and I said it would be possible."

The Sun quoted him as saying that the hardest part was "getting hold of one as there were very few in Austria and all these had been sold out right at the start. In the end I had one especially imported from South Africa". "I had to work fast because the Russian businessmen wanted it to be used during the World Cup final which his business partner has got tickets for. I really enjoyed creating this piece. By the time all the materials plus the shipment costs have been taken into account the price was close to 20,000 pounds."

Klemens Pointner said the vuvuzela, which originally cost 2 pounds, was covered in white gold and it also features a one-carat diamond. And the vuvuzela is fully functional and just as loud as the cheaper versions.
